I am a clinical psychologist with 30 years of experience working with adolescents and adults. I believe evidence-based cognitive behavioral strategies and insight-oriented approaches can be flexibly applied to help understand current difficulties and find effective solutions. I have worked with clients in both clinic and hospital settings and served as the director of clinical psychology training programs and supervised dozens of doctoral trainees in psychotherapy and evaluation. I have held faculty appointments at Columbia University Medical Center/Psychiatric Institute and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. I have co-authored multiple papers and treatment manuals and presented at numerous conferences regarding adolescent and adult mental health, brief treatment, crisis intervention, and evaluation. As a distinguished scholar at the City University School of Public Health, I have been particularly interested in mental health initiatives in response to public health crises and have helped develop community mental health treatment, training, and research programs in response to 9/11 (Project Liberty), Hurricane Katrina and COVID-19.
I live in Westchester, N.Y. and enjoy reading, photography, nature, and spending time with family and friends.
I welcome your email or phone call and would be happy to arrange an initial consultation. I offer evening and weekend appointments as well as telehealth services.
